Mad for Garlic

I don't like the smell of garlic and I will only eat it if I cannot see it on my food. But yesterday (18 March 2012) was my second time to have dinner in Mad for Garlic. The garlic'ly design of the interior is very unique and all the food in the menu is cooked with garlic.

We ordered: Garlicholic Rice (the garlic is cooked in such a way that it blended well with the fried rice. the smell was not too strong and the taste is just nice)

We also ordered Lobster Pasta. A little too creamy and the taste is just ordinary.

Mushroom Risotto is our next dish. The combination of Mushroom and Grilled Chicken in a Garlic Sauce Risotto is not too bad.

We also had the Garlic Snowing Pizza. It is thin and not too fattening. The Hawaian taste and the Fried Garlic mixed realy well.

Japanese Food @ Itacho Ion

The sushi set at Itacho Ion is superb. It has eel spring rol in the middle, beef sushi, salmon sushi and mackerel sushi. The sashimi is fresh and the sushi taste different from a normal sushi. I can feel the half grilled salmon and the taste of a special sauce added on the sushi.
Another unique dish is the Eel Sushi which is like 30cm Long. The eel is 10 times longer than the rice. The taste is normal though and the sauce is nothing special. For eel, my number one choice is still Chikuwatei - at Muhamad Sultan.

Mellben @ Ang Mo Kio

The best beehon butter crab in Singapore!

We came at 6.20 pm and It took us 2 hours to queue and waiting for the food. Iguess people don't mind lining up for the good food.

I will rate the beehon butter crab 10/10! The butter soup and the thick meat of the crab lifts up the mood and cheer the hungry stomach!

As an appetizer we have fried yam ring with cashew nuts and mushroom. It is unhealthy but it is a must have dish!

The Chilli Crab is delicious too! Dip the fried mantou inside the chilli sauce and eat it together with the crab. The sweet taste of the mantou and the spicy sauce mixed really well.

If not because of the long queue, I would have come here every weekend. :)

Ao Nang Cuisine

Down the Ao Nang beach, we found a small little restaurant - Ao Nang Cuisine. It offers a typical authentic thai food with a friendly waitress. Thai Coconut is a must have - it is naturally sweet than the normal coconut.

We have the Pad Thai -  (ผัดไทย "fried "Thai Style). The tamarind juice, crushed peanuts, coriander, chilli pepper sauce blends really well with the prawns, eggs and chicken. Especially when you eat it hot in a rainy weather.

And the famous Green Curry Chicken which is a must have in every thai food dish

Another highlight of the restaurant is Butter Prawn with Sweet Sour Sauce. There are only 4 big prawns but it was enough for 2 people. I acually hate onions but the onions seasoning made the prawn taste really delicious.

We decided to have Mango Sticky Rice for dessert but without the Rice as both of us were too full. I wonder why thai Mango is always very sweet. We finished the whole mango in the matter of minutes.

Tom Yum Goong @ Weng Sai Krabi

I am just back from a short trip to Krabi (6-8 March 2012) and grateful to have tasted the best tomyum soup ever! It was a restaurant named Weng Sai near our hotel - The Small Hotel in Aonang Beach. The spicy and sour taste is just nice and it is little sweeter than the normal Tom Yum I have tasted in Singapore. Unlucky that I can't enjoy this soup every week.

PS: Fact about Tom Yum, it is the No.4 on World's 50 Most Delicious Foods complied by CNN Go in 2011. 'Tom' means soup and 'Yum' means spicy and sour.
